The NSRRC Distribution Valve Box (DVB) is a large stainless steel vessel with a volume of approximately 3 m³ which was delivered to the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Centre in Taiwan. The entire system was designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested by AS Scientific in Abingdon. As well as the DVB, AS Scientific also delivered an additional four Control Valve Boxes (CVB) of slightly smaller size during an on-going project which included many other items.
The function of these valve boxes is to distribute liquid helium, liquid nitrogen, and cold helium gas, through attached transfer lines, around the synchrotron building to various specified points.
